Who We Represent
VCMA believes that all Chinatown businesses – traditional and contemporary, new and established – can contribute to each other’s success. See below the three categories of businesses that we represent with our advocacy.

Legacy Businesses

Legacy businesses are at the core of our VCMA community. These are businesses that we consider stewards of Chinatown’s culture, stories and traditions. Their owners and operators – young and old – all feel passionate about keeping the culture alive and relevant.

Complementary Businesses

VCMA counts community-minded entrepreneurs among its membership, who offer complementary goods and services to our community. These independent businesses care about the neighbourhood, and want to contribute to Chinatown’s success and the sustainment of its culture.

Kam Wai Dim Sum
金威點心
William Liu and his sister Susan are second-generation owners of Kam Wai Dim Sum. They chose to remain in Chinatown to serve community and build on their parents’ legacy.

Dollar Meat Store
元昌燒臘肉食公司
Joey Wong is the proud owner of Dollar Meat Store. They have been in Chinatown for over 50 years, selling barbecued and roasted meats such as BBQ duck and salted chicken.
黃國政是元昌燒臘肉食公司引以為傲的東主。該公司在華埠經營了50多年，出售燒鴨和鹽水雞等燒臘美食。
Forum Home Appliances
豐林家庭電器中心
Ross Lam and Tracy To are the faces behind family-run business Forum Home Appliances. It is Chinatown’s one-stop-shop for small appliances and housewares since 1988.

Hung Win Seafood
洪運海産
Calvin Chan is general manager and fishmonger at family business Hung Win Seafood. They serve live and fresh seafoods to local restaurants, wholesalers and residents.
